Mandarins
New harvest in November will replenish a tight market. High quality frozen
segments from China remain a popular speciality. On canned product it is
obvious that Spain and Turkey will never match the Chinese for quality and
price even though the EC huge import levy remains in place.
Mango
This fruit continues to grow in popularity even though
difficulties of climate change are causing some regions to re-asses growing
viability. As third world farmers demand higher prices expect some
volatility.
Peach
A good worldwide crop with plenty of fruit.
Pear
The Williams dice continues to sell well and new stock from November,
ensures a good and affordable stock. |
Pineapple
We now stock Vietnamese fruit as we find it is the most
reliable in quality and colour.
Plums
The crop is good across Europe and we have halves and dice at
reduced prices. The English Victoria plum and damson crop is excellent, but
we have only produced to order.
Raspberries
A climatically sensitive product yielded a large crop but the
volume of top quality IQF fruit is small, but plenty of crumb and puree. The
new laser sorters in our Polish factory are providing superb quality whole
and broken and crumb. |
Redcurrants
Good crop this year of really good quality, at good prices.
Rhubarb
Poland had a poor first crop and only an average August crop.
Prices are high and stock availability will become a problem
Strawberries
A good crop in China means plenty of volume of increasingly
nice red fruit. A good crop in Poland, however as prices are down not all of
this was picked. Plenty of large fruit available but very little small
fruit. Mediterranean Camerosa is nearly all sold out except for Egypt-
but the who is surprised.
Summer fruit mix
We continue to sell large volumes of this item. This year we
also offer English 4 fruit mix through our Grange hall brand
